Recently, I was told to write about Star Wars. Now, if you didn't know, I'm a huge fan. HUGE. However, this mild obsession comes with a price. I can hardly narrow it down to anything that I could fit in a blog post. So, I've decided to to more of a train of thought sort of thing. I'll start off with the future of Star Wars, and take it from there.
The future. Star Wars, Episode VII comes out sometime next year. I have heard tell that both Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill (Han Solo and Luke Skywalker) will both come back to play their parts. Slightly confused by this, I wondered where this movie could possibly take place along the Star Wars story line. The books (yes, there are books) have continued the story far, far beyond where Return of the Jedi ended. The latest book series has Luke and Leia in their mid sixties with grown children. In fact, Han and Leia are grandparents! Not the young rebels you knew from the movies, huh? So, to have the movie fall sometime after the latest book series would work quite wonderfully. They'd have to get a whole new cast for the children and grandchildren and whatnot, but that's what movie directors do! They would love it!
However, they could also completely BASE the movie off the books. I'd quite like that, really. They could have Ben Skywalker, and Vestara, and Allana Solo, and Mara Jade, and and and and... *Deep beath* Okay, back to Earth. Sorry, I can get WAY too excited about this geeky stuff. Yes, they can do that, but then all ten of us who've ever read the books would already know what happens. Eh, that's alright. I don't mind! They are certainly good stories. Very good. Read them. Read them all. Now.
Or they could also...
Do...
The...
Most...
Terrible...
Awful...
Blasphemous...
THING...
EVER...
They... They could... THEY COULD POSSIBLY, TERRIBLY, AWFULLY... CHANGE THE STORY LINE ALTOGETHER!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
No!
I can't bear to think about that! They wouldn't, COULDN'T, dare!
Phew, okay, that's over.
I've got to stop writing now.
Maybe I'll write more about Star Wars later.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
We'll see.
